ACTIVITIES IN DECEMBER 2006
SILAT
CONVENTION IN MALAYSIA
On
December the 3-4th 2006, as the initiative of PESAKA, Ministry
of Culture, Arts and Malaysia Inheritance and the Kingdom of Negeri
Sembilan Daril Khusus, had been arranged “Covention of National
Silat and Initiative of Silat Inheritance”, located at the
Glory Beach Resort, Port Dickson, Negeri Sembilan. Mr. Eddie M Nalapraya
(President of PERSILAT), Mr. Rustadi Effendi (Deputy Executive Chairman
of CB PERSILAT) and Mr. Haryadi Anwar (Sec-Gen CB PERSILAT) attended
in this convention.
The convention was officially opened by Menteri Besar (Great Minister)
of Negeri Sembilan. YAB. Dato Seri Utama Hj. Mohamad bin Haji Hasan
and closed by the Minister of Culture, Arts and Malaysia Inheritance
YB. Datuk Seri Utama Dr. Rais Yatim altering Prime Minister YAB.
Dato Seri Abdullah Haji Ahmad Badawi, who had been hindered to attend.
The
goal of convention are :

To include PESAKA as a legal and honorable Body relating with
science, history and Silat inheritance.

To follow-up the plan of PESAKA in its development draft and
make Silat as a model of intact human development.

To place/pose PESAKA as non-kingdom Body which is capable to
contribute and voice the interest of nation in the relevant field.

To authenticate/legalize Silat as official inheritance and self-defence
arts of the state.
According to Mr. Eddie M. Nalapraya, the Malaysian Pencak Silat
will be legalized as official sports which later will be included
in the curriculum of the schools and will be sheltered under the
Ministry of Culture. It means that Malaysia had been a step going
onward than the other founding members, that is Indonesia, Singapore
and Brunei Darussalam. Mr. Eddie hoped that the step of PESAKA can
be followed by the other founding members, so that Pencak Silat
can be more solid and included in the curriculum of the schools
in the respective countries.

WORLD
CHAMPIONSHIP IN SURAKARTA
On
6 December 2006, Mr. Eddie M. Nalapraya, the President of PERSILAT,
went to Surakkarta to meet the Governor of Central Java for the purpose
of speaking about the PERSILAT’s plan to arrange World Pencak Silat
Championship in Surakarta on 19-27 August 2007.

THE
VISIT OF VIETNAM’S PESILATS
On
28 November until 15 Desember 2006 a Team of South Vietnam’s
Pesilats, led by Hartono, Pencak Silat instructor of Vietnam from
Indonesia, held a join training with the Indonesian Pesilats located
at Padepokan Pencak Silat Indonesia (PnPSI), Jakarta, Indonesia.
Under
the guidance of Hartono, Vietnam had become General Champion in
SEA Games XXII 2003 in Hanoi, Vietnam and SEA Games XXIII 2005 in
Cebu, the Philppines
During
in Indonesia, this Vietnam Team had taken holiday at the house of
Mr. Eddie M. Nalapraya in Cipayung, Bogor, West Java, in the mountain
area around 80 Km from Jakarta. In this mountainous cool and fresh
air, the pesilats of Vietnam took oportunity to train Pencak Silat.

THE
VISIT OF SINGAPOREAN PESILATS
On
2-15 December 2006 a Team of Singaporean Juinor Pesilats had trained
for competition at Padepokan Pencak Silat Indonesia. The goal of
this agenda is to prepare the seedling of pesilats in their early
ages, especially in connection with Junior Pencak Silat Championship
which will be held in Singapore in March 2007.

BROTHERHOOD MEETING BETWEEN
ORPHANED CHILDREN AND PESILATS OF VIETNAM
On
10 December 2006 Mr. Eddie M. Nalapraya had arranged a brotherhood
meeting and eat together at his house in Cipayung, Bogor, West Java,
between around 100 orphaned children from the Foundation of Paku
Bumi with the pesilats of Vietnam who were there for holiday and
training. This meeting were also attended by some local community
members.
This
agenda is a form of Mr. Eddie’s concern personally to the
orphaned children to make them feel a little bit happy. After following
this meeting, each of the ophaned child and some local people took
home a box of Indomie (noodles) and Angpau (money gift) from Mr.
Eddie. In this agenda, Mr. Saiful and his wife from Bank Mandiri
Staff Tajur Bogor, and also Hartono, the instructor of Vietnam’s Pencak
Silat, handed over sympathetic gift directly to the Nurse of the
said orphaned children.

THE 13TH
PENCAK SILAT ASEAN UNIVERSITY GAMES
On 17 – 22 December 2006, ISAVIE (Vietnam),
supported by the CB of PERSILAT, will arrange the 13th
Pencak Silat ASEAN University Games, located in Hanoy. Pesilats of
University students coming from ASEAN countries will paticipate in
this Games.

Since 9 Desember 2006
Mr. Don Kessing, general chairman of perguruan Pencak Silat Manyang of
the Netherlands had been in Indonesia. He was longing for Indonesia and
wish to see the development of Pencak Silat in Indonesia. In the close
time his group, consisted of members of various perguruan Pencak Silat
from the Netherlands, will follow him to visit Indonesia. Mr. Don
Kessing and his group will make a tour to various areas in Indonesia,
especially in Java. They will leave for Indonesia on 4 February 2007.

VISITORS FROM AZERBAIJAN
On 26 December 2006, Mr. Abbas
Hunbatov and Prof. Zarbalijev from Azerbaijan will come to Jakarta.
Their purpose is to know more widely and deeply about Pencak Silat
and various things connecting with it. Organization of Pencak Silat
had been established in Azerbaijan, the name of which is Azerbaijan
Pencak Silat Federation (APSF). The President of APSF is Mr. Ilham
